Jemele Hill is bringing her voice to Spotify.

The journalist is launching a podcast in March that will feature her signature honest analysis of American life, it was announced at CES. Called Unbothered, the show will release new episodes twice a week and will include Hill, her co-hosts and a rotating cast of high-profile guests exploring the news of the week, from sports to politics to music to identity to culture.

"Spotify and I are very like-minded," Hill said in a statement. "We both believe in being bold and authentic. I am thrilled to get the opportunity to stretch myself in a much different way, with a support system that I believe will bring out the best in me. I look forward to sharing my perspective and experience with Spotify’s many listeners across the world."

Hill spent 12 years at ESPN, writing for the website, serving as a college football sideline reporter, hosting SportsCenter and, most recently, covering the intersection of sports, culture and race for ESPN's The Undefeated. During her time at the network, she has been vocal about issues relating to race and politics. In 2017 she made headlines for calling President Donald Trump a white supremacist on Twitter, which resulted in criticism from the White House. ESPN later suspended her for two weeks for her critical tweets about Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

Hill, who is repped by Exit 39, CAA and Jackoway Tyerman, left ESPN in September and was named a staff writer at The Atlantic one month later. Since she joined, she has written stories about Beto O'Rourke, the 2018 midterm elections and the Obamas.

On Unbothered, she is expected to cover a range of issues, from athletes talking about race to Usher's new perm. Each episode will range in length from 60 to 75 minutes.

"Jemele is an important voice in sports, race, culture and politics, and their intersection in media,” said Spotify Studios head Courtney Holt. "She will bring her unique point of view to our platform with Unbothered, which is sure to be a favorite of listeners with diverse interests and viewpoints."

Unbothered joins a growing roster of original podcasts for Spotify, including Amy Schumer's 3 Girls, 1 Keith and The Joe Budden Podcast. Spotify, which has 200 million users worldwide, is looking to podcasts to help it draw a broader audience and to differentiate itself from other music streaming platforms.
