Jennie Garth to Release Memoir

New American Library will release "Deep Thoughts From a Hollywood Blonde" on April 1, 2014, just two weeks before "90210" co-star Jason Priestley's memoir hits shelves.

Jennie Garth is penning a memoir.

The 41-year-old actress will author Deep Thoughts From a Hollywood Blonde, a humorous and revealing tell-all featuring stories about filming the hit series Beverly Hills, 90210, her relationships with other castmembers and her life as a single mother after splitting from actor Peter Facinelli.

New American Library, a division of Penguin Group, has slated the title for release on April 1, 2014.

"The past few years have been full of changes," said Garth in a statement. "Now I’m on my own with my three kids, and I just crossed that tricky invisible line into my forties. Maybe because of all these things or maybe despite them, I feel like another chapter in my life is just beginning. This book is my story about where I’ve been and where I’m headed — and what I’ve learned along the way."

Garth first gained fame by playing Kelly Taylor for 10 seasons on the Aaron Spelling-created soap, Beverly Hills, 90210. She also appeared in The CW revival and toplined the WB sitcom What I Like About You alongside Amanda Bynes.

The book news comes after Garth's former 90210 co-star Jason Priestley announced his memoir two months ago, which, at the time, generated widespread attention. Garth's effort publishes two weeks ahead of Priestley's HarperCollins memoir, which hits stores April 15, and could be seen as an attempt to piggyback on his publicity or steal his thunder.

Other 90210 alumni who have penned memoirs include Tori Spelling, who published her New York Times best-selling memoir sTORI Telling in 2009.

Randy James at James/Levy Management represented Garth on the book deal, and senior editor Jennifer Schuster negotiated on behalf of NAL.
