Jennifer Aniston, Jack Huston Joining 'The Yellow Birds'
Benedict Cumberbatch dropped out of the role that Huston now occupies.
Jennifer Aniston and Jack Huston are joining the cast of The Yellow Birds.
Yellow Birds is based on the novel by Iraq War veteran Kevin Powers, and follows two young soldiers who become friends in boot camp, promising to take care of each other — a pact that gets more difficult as the war goes on.
Director Alexandre Moors, who recently filmed the music video for Kendrick Lamar's "I," will head the project that also stars Tye Sheridan and Alden Ehrenreich.
Aniston will play the part of Ehrenreich’s mother, while Huston will play Sgt. Sterling, a role that English actor Benedict Cumberbatch had dropped out of prior to Huston's casting.
Cinelou Films is financing the film, which is produced by Mark Canton, Courtney Solomon and Story Mining’s Jeffrey Sharpe. Jim Kohlberg is executive producing.
The Friends alum has multiple upcoming projects, including The Comedian. She is currently filming the Garry Marshall ensemble comedy, Mother's Day, where she stars opposite Marshall muse Julia Roberts. She's repped by CAA, Brillstein Entertainment and Hansen & Jacobson.
Huston, who starred in Boardwalk Empire, has recently acted in Kill Your Darlings and American Hustle, and can be seen amongst the Victorian-era undead in the upcoming flick Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, where he will play Mr. Wickham. He's repped by UTA, Untitled Entertainment and Morris Yorn.
