Jennifer Lawrence and Jimmy Fallon Compete in Ax-Throwing Contest

The actress and host went head-to-head during a new competition on 'The Tonight Show.'

It's no secret that Jimmy Fallon loves playing games on The Tonight Show, and last night's competition was possibly the most dangerous yet. When Jennifer Lawrence stopped by the talk show to promote her latest film mother!, the actress challenged Fallon to an ax-throwing competition.

Fallon explained the rules prior to the main event. Each competitor was to throw an ax at a target with the outline of a body, conveniently found in The Tonight Show prop room, Fallon said. Each body part was worth a certain amount of points, and the person with the most points after three rounds won. May the odds be ever in your favor.

While Fallon and Lawrence both missed on their first shots, Fallon managed to get his ax on the target during his second try after Lawrence attempted to distract him by shouting, "Hey, Jimmy, I just remembered something!" On his third throw, Fallon managed to land his ax on the target's drawn head, which earned him 10 points.

Lawrence is known for her roles as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games film series and as superhuman Mystique in the X-Men franchise, but unfortunately her characters skills have not translated into her real-life talents as an ax thrower. The game ultimately ended with Fallon winning with a 12-point lead after Lawrence missed the prop on all three of her tries.
