Jennifer Lopez is obviously invested in her forthcoming NBC police drama, Shades of Blue. She showed her commitment with a brand-new haircut that was designed just for her character. Says Rita Hazan stylist Juan Carlos Maciques, who cut the lob-like style for the star, "J.Lo is very passionate about her new role and has a very specific idea of who the character is and what she should look like."

Not only does she have the cut of the summer, but the color, too: Bronde. Although Maciques has worked with Lopez for seven years, he realized how seriously she was taking this new gig because this is the most significant cut he’s known her to make. "It’s a character she’s created to suit a specific need, and the cut reflects that. Now it’s a matter of adapting it to her every day and making it glamorous."

At the Tony Awards, she most certainly looked glam, and she also looks gorgeous with her natural curly texture, like she sports while filming. Says the stylist of her cut, which is layered to serve her curls: "It’s a length that works well for most, because it’s not too short or long so there’s no severity. It’s soft and flattering."

While Lopez could probably pull off anything, in this instance her vision really worked. "She is so professional — it impresses me, not to mention her beauty," says Maciques. "The cut I gave her is truly a reflection of the relatable, down-to-earth and sexy character she created."
