Jet Li to Walk Venice's Red Carpet for 'Sorcerer'

Li and producer Tony Ching Siu-tung last worked together on 'The Warlords.'

HONG KONG – Jet Li and director Tony Ching Siu-tung will walk down Lido red carpet at the upcoming 68th Venice International Film Festival for their The Sorcerer and the White Snake, screening out-of-competition at the festival. 

Presented by China Juli Entertainment Media, produced by Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Kung Fu Hustle and Fearless producer Chui Po-Chu and repped by Distribution Workshop, the action fantasy marks a reunion for the Li-Ching team, who previously collaborated on Swordsman 2, The Scripture with No Words, Hero and The Warlords. The film proved a popular for international buyers, as Yu Dong, chairman and CEO of Bona Film Group, owner of Distribution Workshop, announced the film the best Chinese film in overseas sales this year.

The film, the first Chinese fantasy in the selection of a major international film festival, also stars Eva Huang, Raymond Lam, Charlene Choi, Wen Zhang, Vivian Hsu and Jiang Wu.
