Jimmy Fallon Plans Summer Mustache, Rides Tandem Bicycle With Justin Timberlake
The close friends went "bro biking," the 'Tonight Show' host reveals as he explains his new, scruffy appearance.
Jimmy Fallon returned from a week off on Monday, and the Tonight Show host revealed that he'd grown a beard during his vacation.
But his scruffy appearance is just temporary, he said, explaining that the beard is just part of his plan to grow a mustache for the summer.
"You can't just start with the mustache, you have to have the beard and then shave that off and have the mustache," said Fallon of his intermediate look. "Because this is going to be the summer of 'stache for me."
Yes, as announcer Steve Higgins clarified, Fallon has officially declared the summer of 2017 as "the summer of 'stache," with the host encouraging fans to turn it into a hashtag or "stache-tag."
"All July I will have a mustache," Fallon announced.
But he admitted he underestimated how long it would take him to get there.
"It takes a lot of time to grow a beard or mustache, and I didn't know how much time it would take; I've never really tried to do this. This is a week's worth. And it's just not enough," he said. "I want to apologize to our great audience for being here and putting up with this funny business. I want to give you the quality facial hair that you deserve."
Higgins suggested that Fallon keep the soul patch in addition to his mustache, but the host refused, saying, "That's so not me, man."
Fallon also shared video of himself and close friend Justin Timberlake riding a tandem bicycle around the Hamptons, or "bro biking," as Fallon called it.
The host explained that his wife bought him a tandem bicycle so they could ride around together but shortly after giving him the gift, the couple had a baby, so now he only pulls the bike out when Timberlake visits.
