Jimmy Fallon tops late-night web ranks

Conan O'Brien, Chelsea Handler have big digital footprints

NEW YORK -- Jimmy Fallon is the top-ranked late-night comedian when it comes to presence and popularity on the web, followed by Conan O'Brien and Chelsea Handler.

Forbes first reported the ranking by PeekScore based on late-night personalities' digital footprint. It cites Fallon's popular Twitter feed and blog, among other things.

PeekScore says on its website that it takes into account such factors as "blogging, participation in social networks, the number of your friends, followers, or readers, the amount of web content you create and your prominence in the news" in calculating ranks.

Rounding out the top five late-night comedians are Stephen Colbert and David Letterman. They are followed by Jay Leno, George Lopez and Craig Ferguson, according to PeekScore.
