Jimmy Smits signs with UTA
EmptyJimmy Smits has signed with UTA. He will be represented by a team led by Tracey Jacobs and David Guillod, with an eye toward building his film career.
The Brooklyn-born Smits, who had been at CAA, has had a successful career in TV with stints on "The West Wing, "NYPD Blue," "L.A. Law" and others under his belt.
Smits most recently was on the big screen in Robin Swicord's romantic comedy "The Jane Austen Book Club." He also played Sen. Bail Organa in "Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith."
On the TV front, Smits was star and executive producer of CBS' "Cane," which is now in limbo. Smits' El Sendero Prods. is developing two other projects, one with Todd Robinson and the other with Gregory Nava.
Smits continued to repped by BEP and attorney Tom Hoberman.
