J.J. Abrams, Drew Barrymore to Appear in HBO Doc About Steven Spielberg

'Spielberg' will premiere on HBO on Oct. 7.

HBO has scheduled the premiere of a documentary feature about legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg.

J.J. Abrams, Christian Bale and Drew Barrymore are among the expansive list of talent that were interviewed for the doc, from director Susan Lacy.

Fellow directors Francis Ford Coppola, Brian De Palma, George Lucas, Martin Scorsese and Robert Zemeckis also were interviewed, along with actors Oprah Winfrey, Daniel Day-Lewis, Laura Dern, Leonardo DiCaprio, Richard Dreyfuss, Ralph Fiennes, Harrison Ford and Tom Hanks, among others.

The doc, titled Spielberg, will take a look at the director's decades-spanning career and will include behind-the-scenes footage from the likes of Jaws, Raiders of the Lost Ark and E.T.

Lacy, who has previously directed docs about David Geffen, Joni Mitchell, Judy Garland and Paul Simon, also produced the movie, along with Emma Pildes and Jessica Levin.

Spielberg will premiere on HBO on Oct. 7.
