Joan Rivers' Facebook Page Caught in Unfortunate iPhone Promotion
The late comedian programmed promotions early
Joan Rivers had an unexpected message for her Facebook fans on Friday: The iPhone 6 is pretty good.
The late comedian, who died Sept. 4 at 81, had apparently prepped to shill for the iPhone 6 weeks before her death, according to her social media posts early Friday.
"This badass is being replaced by an iPhone 6 (not the fat one)," Rivers wrote in identical posts on Facebook and Instagram, which were apparently preprogrammed before Rivers' death. The posts on both Instagram and Facebook were quickly taken down. The posts were first reported by TMZ.
Apple routinely gifts celebrities early access to their products before big launches. Stephen Colbert played with an iPhone 6 Plus on The Colbert Report Thursday night, and Carson Daly sported the new phone on the Today show early Friday.
Reps for Apple and Rivers did not return emails for comment.
Rivers' post on Thursday promoting her show, E!'s Fashion Police, did stay up. The network confirmed on Friday the series would continue without Rivers.
