The Toronto production executive is headed to the maker of "Storage Wars Canada" and "Master Chef Canada."

TORONTO -- Joanne Virgo is set to depart American Pickers producer Cineflex Media for rival Proper Television.

Virgo, an executive producer and one of the top executives in Toronto after Cineflix Productions CEO Simon Lloyd and executive vp Joe Houlihan recently left the company to launch their own production shingle, will jump to Proper Television to also serve as an executive producer.

"We're sorry Jo has decided to leave the company. She made a great contribution, and we wish her the very best," Montreal-based Cineflix said in a statement Friday.

Toronto-based Proper is increasingly in demand doing format adaptations like Masterchef Canada and Storage Wars Canada for domestic broadcasters, aside from its original series.

Virgo oversaw Cineflix series such as Property Virgins and executive produced Cash & Cari and The Delinquent Gourmet.

Her departure comes as Cineflix continues to downsize due to reduced factual TV series orders in Canada and a costly move into scripted dramas with the just-canceled Copper series for BBC America.
