Joe and Jill Biden to Appear at Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve

The President-elect and future First Lady will be interviewed by Ryan Seacrest, who returns for his 16th year as host.

President-elect Joe Biden and future First Lady Jill Biden are set to appear during Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2021, airing live on Dec. 31.

Looking onward to the new year, the couple will be be sharing a message of hope and unity during their interview with Seacrest, who returns for his 16th year as host. Lucy Hale and Billy Porter will join him for the event in Times Square. In Los Angeles, singer Ciara will oversee all the activities, while Big Freedia will host the celebration from New Orleans.

The 49th annual tradition will feature musical performances from artists including headliner Jennifer Lopez, who will perform in New York moments before the famous ball drop, along with Billy Porter, Cyndi Lauper, Jimmie Allen, Miley Cyrus, Machine Gun Kelly, Nelly, Saweetie, Megan Thee Stallion, Lewis Capaldi and Miley Cyrus.

"In a year marked with many challenges, we are honored that President-Elect Joe Biden and Dr. Biden will join America’s most-watched tradition — 'Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve' — to share an inspiring message as we come together to close out 2020 and look ahead with hope to 2021," said Amy Thurlow, president, dick clark productions and Craig Erwich, president, Hulu Originals and ABC Entertainment, in a joint statement.

County artist Jessie James Decker returns as Powerball correspondent, revealing the Powerball first millionaire of the year after the clock strikes midnight.

The celebration is produced, in accordance with guidelines outlined by national, state and local health officials, by dick clark productions with Seacrest, Thurlow, Barry Adelman, Mark Bracco and Linda Gierahn serving as exec producers.

The Hollywood Reporter and Dick Clark Productions are both owned by parent company MRC.

Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2021 airs on Dec. 31 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC, with performances continuing until 2 a.m. ET.
