He pokes fun at the troubled actor during Saturday's awards show.

Joel McHale is no Ricky Gervais.

The host of this year's Independent Spirit Awards didn't skewer any stars at the awards show Saturday like the controversial Golden Globes host did last month.
But he did sneak in a crack about troubled actor Charlie Sheen.
"I'm Joel McHale," he told the audience. "Or, as Charlie Sheen refers to me, Mordechai."
Sheen made headlines this week when he referred to Two and a Half Men co-creator Chuck Lorre by his birth name, Chaim Levine, after the remaining season of CBS' Two and a Half Men was suspended. (The Anti-Defamation League later criticized Sheen for his "bizarre," "borderline anti-Semitism" remark.)
