The ‘Newsroom’ alum has lined up a new team of reps.

John Gallagher Jr. has a new team, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned. He has signed with UTA, manager Byron Wetzel at Wetzel Entertainment Group and law firm Morris Yorn, having previously been repped by Gersh, Station 3 and Franklin Weinrib.

The actor will be seen opposite Chloe Grace Moretz and Sasha Lane in Desiree Akhavan’s The Miseducation of Cameron Post, which will premiere next month in competition at Sundance. His other 2018 releases include the Fox thriller Underwater, with Kristen Stewart and Vincent Cassel; Astute Films’ true-life civil rights drama The Best of Enemies, starring Taraji P. Henson and Sam Rockwell; and Lakeshore’s revenge actioner Peppermint, starring Jennifer Garner.

Last year, Gallagher starred in Paramount’s 10 Cloverfield Lane as well as BH Tilt’s office horror-thriller The Belko Experiment. His other feature credits include Destin Daniel Cretton’s acclaimed foster-care drama Short Term 12, in which he starred opposite Brie Larson, and Woody Allen’s Whatever Works. On television, Gallagher is best known for his role as everyguy producer Jim Harper on Aaron Sorkin’s HBO drama The Newsroom, but he also has appeared on the HBO miniseries Olive Kitteridge, The West Wing, Law & Order: SVU and NYPD Blue.

Gallagher also has been one of the most consistent young actors on Broadway. After making his debut in David Lindsay-Abaire’s Pulitzer-winning grief portrait Rabbit Hole opposite Cynthia Nixon, he won a Tony for originating the role of the tormented Moritz in Spring Awakening, opposite Jonathan Groff and Lea Michele. He later starred in the Green Day musical American Idiot, Jez Butterworth’s tragicomic play Jerusalem (starring Mark Rylance) and most recently the 2016 revival of Eugene O’Neill’s Long Day’s Journey Into Night, opposite Gabriel Byrne, Jessica Lange and Michael Shannon.
