John Griffin promoted at Spike TV

Named senior vp programming

John Griffin has been promoted to senior vp programming for Spike TV.

Griffin will continue to oversee scheduling and acquisitions for Spike, based in New York and reporting to the network's president Kevin Kay.

Since joining Spike as vp programming in 2005, Griffin has orchestrated such acquisitions as the "Star Wars" franchise, "Band of Brothers," "Married With Children," "Unsolved Mysteries" and, most recently, "Entourage."

Before coming to Spike, Griffin spent 12 years with A&E Network, starting off as network operations and traffic coordinator and ultimately rising to director of scheduling, acquisitions and program information.
