John Mayer Interviews Katy Perry's Dancing Super Bowl Sharks (Video)

John Mayer calls Katy Perry's performance "unbelievable."

John Mayer was very proud of his "huge get" when he guest hosted The Late Late Show on Wednesday. The singer had both Left Shark and Right Shark, plus their agent/marine biologist Carl, on his show.

Katy Perry's dancing sharks from the Super Bowl didn't have much to say because, as Carl pointed out, they're sharks, not dolphins, so they can't talk. They also don't dance for anything less than $100,000, apparently. Watch for their appearance at around the 8:20 mark.

Mayer added fuel to the rumors that he and Perry are back together when he spoke with his next guest, Andy Cohen, about her halftime show, calling it "unbelievable."

After admitting he saw the performance from the stadium's family box, he said, "I think the whole thing about the sharks — everybody wants to talk about the sharks, because it's just something everyone can grab onto, because not everybody feels comfortable walking around saying that Katy Perry was amazing."

"So they use the sharks as kind of, 'Guys, love the sharks,' " continued Mayer. "It's like, you have nothing bad to say about the performance, do you? 'No, I don't.' Because if they did, you'd hear about it."
