"America is on fire," the 'Last Week Tonight' host said on Monday's 'Late Night With Seth Meyers.'

John Oliver visited Seth Meyers on Monday's Late Night and spoke about returning from Last Week Tonight's three-month hiatus. Oliver said that he doesn't really vacation when he takes time off and then brought up former President Obama's recent batch of vacation photos, saying it might be controversial to say this but he thinks Obama should "kick back a little less."

Oliver said he's "a little sick" of seeing pictures of Obama in the British Virgin Islands with Richard Branson.

"I'm glad he's having a nice time," said Oliver, but "America is on fire."

He joked that a criticism of Obama's was that he was out of touch with the American people, and he said that at this moment, Obama has never been more out of touch. "We're losing public school — wheee!" exclaimed Oliver, pretending to be Obama kite-surfing.

Oliver also joked that Trump becoming president "is Oprah's fault" because she promoted The Secret, a book about the power of positive thinking. "It's like The Secret was real, and it worked for one person and unfortunately it was him," said Oliver, adding that Trump willed being president into life.

Oliver and Meyers also talked about the experience of doing stand-up comedy the day after Trump was elected, at an NRDC comedy event.
