The stars of the FilmDistrict movie based on Hunter S. Thompson’s novel walked the black carpet at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
Johnny Depp, Amber Heard and the other stars of FilmDistrict’s The Rum Diary attended the premiere event on Thursday, October 13, at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. The event featured a black carpet, and Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner sponsored the event.
Amber Heard wore a stunning Elie Saab dress, and co-star Aaron Eckhart wore an Armani jacket.
The focus of the night centered around the late journalist, Hunter S. Thompson, who wrote the highly acclaimed novel on which the film was based. Depp, who was a personal friend of Thompson’s, stars as journalist Paul Kemp, who travels to Puerto Rico to work, but ends up doing more drinking than actual working.
Director/writer Bruce Robinson’s film is set to open in theaters on Oct. 28.
