Johnny Depp to be honored in Serbia
Bust to be unveiled at Kustendorf Int'l Film and Music FestLONDON -- The unveiling of a life-sized bust of Johnny Depp will herald the opening of the third Kustendorf International Film and Music Festival in Serbia, organizers said Tuesday.
Depp is expected in the Serbian town Drvengrad to pick up the event's award for future movies as well as casting his eye over the likeness of his bust.
The actor will rub shoulders with Festival de Cannes delegate general Thierry Fremaux who is due to arrive at the festival's opening ceremony Wednesday to present digitally enhanced films of the Lumiere brothers, including rare color films and early attempts at 3D movies.
Other opening night highlights include Christian Carion's "Farewell" as the festival's first movie and a concert from Austrian group Global.Krynerm at midnight, which also marks the beginning of the Serbian Orthodox new year.
The festival runs Jan. 12 through 19.
