Jon Stewart Mocks CNN's Baltimore Coverage With 'Hunger Games' Parody
'The Daily Show' host took the network to task for prioritizing the White House Correspondents' Dinner.
The Hunger Games met The Daily Show on Monday.
Jon Stewart used a large portion of his show to mock CNN's decision to cover the White House Correspondents' Dinner over growing unrest in Baltimore during the weekend. Stewart showed clips of journalists gushing about celebrities at the dinner, including The Walking Dead's Norman Reedus, even as protests raged it Baltimore following the death of Freddie Gray, who died April 19 while in police custody.
Stewart brought in Jessica Williams, who impersonated Elizabeth Banks' The Hunger Games character Effie Trinket.
"Our hearts go out to Baltimore and all of District 7, so filled with grief at the death of so many tributes," Williams said.
Responded Stewart: "Tributes? I think they are referred to as unarmed men."
