Jonathan Gabay Upped to Senior VP Comedy at Fox
He'll report directly to Suzanna Makkos and help drive development as well as lead series coverage for comedy.
Jonathan Gabay is climbing the ranks at Fox.
Gabay, who joined Fox in 2011, has been promoted to senior vp comedy development and programming, the network announced Friday.
In his new post, Gabay will report directly to Fox exec vp comedy development Suzanna Makkos and will be charged with helping drive development efforts for the network's comedy slate and leading series coverage on existing half-hour shows.
Since joining Fox, Gabay has served as manager of comedy development as well as director, exec director and vp comedy development and programming. He has helped to develop series including The Grinder, Enlisted and Dads. He currently oversees Family Guy, The Mick and upcoming Adam Scott-Craig Robinson starrer Ghosted. He previously managed New Girl, The Last Man on Earth and developed upcoming midseason comedy L.A. to Vegas.
Before joining Fox, Gabay was the coordinator of current programming at The CW, working on dramas including Smallville, The Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl and Supernatural.
His promotion comes seven months after Makkos and drama head Terence Carter re-upped at the network.
