Jordin Sparks Covers Demi Lovato's 'Skyscraper' (Video)

The “American Idol” alum puts her spin on the hit single.

Just one week after Demi Lovato released her somber ballad, "Skyscraper," American Idol winner Jordin Sparks sat down and recorded her own version of the track on Monday (July 18).

Sparks introduces the video by saying, "It's amazing. Demi did an amazing job with it. And I'd like to put my spin on it for you guys." Watch below, as Sparks reinvents Lovato's emotional track and makes it her own.

The black and white video, filmed in front of Sparks' computer, highlights her powerful vocals as she sings the touching track, with Lovato's original version playing quietly in the background.

Lovato released the single last week to rave reviews from fans and fellow musicians. Among them, Sparks tweeted: “GIRL you KILLED that! Thanks for keeping my bgvs on it! You’re gonna change hearts w/ this song!” Just hours after its release, “Skyscraper” shot to No. 1 on iTunes.
