Judi Dench, Dogma to be honored by EFA

European Film Awards set for Dec. 6 in Copenhagen

LONDON -- The European Film Academy will present honorary awards to Judi Dench and a quartet of cinema movement Dogma founders at the European Film Awards, organizers said Wednesday.

Dench will collect EFA's lifetime achievement award for her outstanding body of work.

Coming from Denmark, the Dogma movement with its hand-held camera and natural lighting techniques, is said to have changed the way people look at film.

In recognition of its contribution, EFA plans to present Soren Kragh-Jacobsen, Kristian Levring, Lars von Trier, and Thomas Vinterberg with the award for European Achievement in World Cinema 2008.

The plaudits will be dished out during the 21st European Film Awards, set for Dec. 6 in Copenhagen.
