Judi Dench, Matthew Morrison, Cara Delevingne and Cressida Bonas have joined the cast of the Justin Chadwick-directed drama Tulip Fever.
They join already announced castmembers Alicia Vikander, Dane DeHaan, Jack O’Connell, Holliday Grainger, Christoph Waltz and Zach Galifianakis in the film, which is set in 17th century Amsterdam. The story follows a married woman (Vikander) who begins a passionate affair with an artist hired to paint her portrait. The lovers gamble on the booming market for tulip bulbs as a way to raise money to run away together.
Shakespeare in Love scribe Tom Stoppard adapted the screenplay for the film from Deborah Moggach’s romance novel of the same name. Ruby Films’ Alison Owen is producing.
Dench will play the Abbess of St. Ursula’s, a rescuer of orphan children. The project marks the 10th time that the actress has worked with The Weinstein Co. Her previous work includes Philomena, Skyfall and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. She's repped by Julian Belfrage Associates, Parseghian Planco and Jackoway Tyerman.
Glee star Morrison will play drunken bohemian artist Mattheus. His recent film credits include What to Expect When You're Expecting and Dan in Real Life. He's repped by CAA, Podwall Entertainment and Gang Tyre.
Delevingne will play artists’ model Annetje. The actress' upcoming projects include Pan and London Fields, and she's repped by WME and Storm Artists Management.
Bonas, a former love interest of Prince Harry's, will take on the role of Mrs. Steen, a merchant’s young wife.
