This Is Why Julia Roberts Didn't Do Nail Art at the Oscars
The Best Supporting actress nominee went for solid nails on Sunday. Her manicurist explains why.
We’re suckers for Julia Roberts' trademark smile, but on Sunday we were all over the Academy Award-nominated actress’ polished talons. Celebrity nail artist Lisa Jachno of Lab Nails — whose work was recently spied on W Magazine’s cover featuring Miley Cyrus — dished on Roberts' eye-catching digits, and her inspiration for the A-lister’s must-have mani.
Bucking the season’s earlier nude nail trend, Jachno — whose client roster includes Diane Keaton and Jennifer Aniston — opted for Lancome’s Gris Angora ($15), which popped against the August: Osage County star and best supporting actress nominee’s black lace Givenchy number. But Jachno’s real inspiration was Roberts' dazzling diamond-and-platinum Bulgari arm candy, which complemented the purple-tinted gray hue. “When I think of the Oscars, I think of Old Hollywood glam, not nail art,” she said.
