"Let's keep some dignity."
Julianne Moore was one of the actresses who famously refused to take part in E!'s mani-cam at the SAG Awards this year. In Harper's Bazaar's April issue, the Oscar-winning actress talked about why she dislikes the mani-cam.
"I'm 54 years old," she said. "I can't make my fingers walk; it's humiliating! And a guy asked me to lift up my skirt to show them my shoes, and I said, 'I don't need to do that. Let's keep some dignity.' "
This year's award shows saw an increase in women taking a stand against red-carpet antics many find sexist. E!'s mani-cam was not on the Oscars red carpet, though the network said it was because of space constraints. #AskHerMore was a campaign promoting asking women insightful questions about their career rather than focusing on fashion.
