"A Meryl Streep can go in and out and not be seen"

This story first appeared in the Dec. 19 issue of The Hollywood Reporter magazine.

Sunset Strip hotel The London aggressively is taking on the Four Seasons on Doheny Drive in the junket trade, which the latter has dominated for more than a quarter-century.

The London's Jeff Kulek tells THR the property will debut in January a 110-seat satellite-enabled screening room with a private elevator from the garage ("This way, a Meryl Streep can go in and out and not be seen") and more than 24 renovated suites. In 2014, The London hosted about a dozen industry events. Next year, says Kulek, "I'd love to see 50."
