Bieber embraced girlfriend Selena Gomez before heading to the stage to accept his award. The couple arrived in the same car, but the actress walked the red carpet alone while Bieber headed straight inside the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Said host Ken Jeong (The Hangover II) of the pair: "Are they not the cutest couple in the universe?"

Backstage at the show, Bieber was asked what kind of songs he wants to include on his new album.

"Songs with meaning and significance," he said. "I want to focus on myself and get into what I'm feeling."

The 46award categories were based on measures provided by Billboard's data partners including sales data from Nielsen SoundScan, radio airplay monitored by Nielsen BDS, streaming data measured by Tubemogul and Nielsen BDS, social media consumption gauged by Next Big Sound and tour grosses tracked by Billboard Boxscore.
