Justin Bieber Performs With Usher at Grammys (VIDEO)
The two relive history as they perform a choreographed routine together.
Justin Bieber and his mentor Usher performed together at the Grammys Sunday.
Before they took the stage together, Bieber's 2007 audition tape aired. (Usher famously took Bieber under his wing and helped him sign on to Island Def Jam records in October 2008.)
As the clip played out, Bieber sat on the stage, and Usher came out to join him. "Yeah, that was four years ago. That's how it started," Usher said.
Bieber then belted out an acoustic version of "Baby" - as ninjas playing drums walked down the aisles pounding out the beat to "Never Say Never." Acrobats also joined Bieber on stage (as did Jaden Smith, the 12-year-old son of actors Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, who performed a mini rap).
Usher took the stage next to sing, "OMG." Bieber joined him toward the end of the song and showed off some dance moves and contributed the final bars of the song.
The two open up in the new issue of The Hollywood Reporter about their working relationship. “It takes time to be an icon,” Usher tells THR, referring to Bieber. “That’s why I’m here — to make sure he doesn’t forget that."
