The first runner-up on the debut season of 'American Idol' plays undersized singer Lil' Sweet.

Justin Guarini is back.

The runner-up from the 2002 debut season of American Idol — he lost to Kelly Clarkson — has reprised his role as Lil' Sweet in an odd series of Dr. Pepper commercials.

In the new ad, Guarini, nearly unrecognizable in his long purple wig, plays an undersized singer named Lil' Sweet, who can defy gravity and hear when you cry on the inside.

The first Lil' Sweet commercial debuted in February.
