Kaia Gerber Makes Her Runway Debut at Calvin Klein Show
Her mom, Cindy Crawford, must be so proud.
Kaia Gerber, the daughter of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, has officially made her runway debut at New York Fashion Week.
The 16-year-old rising model, who's signed with IMG Models, strutted down the catwalk at the Calvin Klein show on Thursday evening, looking like a total pro.
Mahershala Ali, Kate Bosworth, Millie Bobby Brown and Paris Jackson were among the stars sitting in the front row.
Earlier in the day at the Brock presentation, Crawford told The Hollywood Reporter that she's not nervous for her daughter. "If your heel breaks, there's nothing you can do, just smile. Shit happens!" said the supermodel, who attended the Tom Ford show Wednesday evening and will be heading to a RE/DONE denim party at Indochine later this week.
On Wednesday, Gerber shared a behind-the-scenes photo of her and fellow model Karlie Kloss wearing matching white robes, with the caption, "big sis." Kloss posted a similar photo and added, "This chicks gonna take her first #NYFW (and the [world emoji]) by storm."
Many in the industry were convinced that Gerber would make her runway debut for Marc Jacobs, given that she's the face of his Daisy fragrance, but it looks like Calvin Klein chief creative officer Raf Simons got to her first.
Gerber may be taking her first turn around the runway, but she's already a pro when it comes to modeling, having posed in a Young Versace photo shoot when she was only 10 years old. In February 2016, she starred in a campaign for L.A.-based line Chrome Hearts. She also landed her first Vogue cover, starring on Vogue Paris' April 2016 issue with her mom.
Gerber most recently graced the cover of Teen Vogue for its Icons issue.
