The outspoken performer stood above a smoking light in the middle of the audience for his intimate family ballad "Only One," co-produced by Paul McCartney.

LL Cool J hosted the 57th annual awards.

Kanye West performed "Only One" at the 57th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday evening.

Wearing a maroon velvet tracksuit and a black layering top, the musician hovered over a singular light that shone upward from the stage with smoke blowing from the grated floor.

West both circled the light and was alone onstage for the entirety of his performance.

The rapper wrote the song in tribute to his and Kim Kardashian's daughter, North West.

"Only One" was written by West and co-written and co-produced by Paul McCartney. West received two Grammy nominations, including best rap/sung collaboration and best rap song.

The Grammys were held Feb. 8 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
