Christy Turlington Burns and Karlie Kloss Define "Extraordinary" for Cole Haan
They've got some experience in that arena.
Karlie Kloss and Christy Turlington Burns have a lot in common. They're tall. They're beautiful. They both earned the undisputed title of "supermodel."
But another of their shared interests is at odds with a common criticism of their chosen profession and those who proclaim modeling is a superficial industry. Turlington, 48, and Kloss, 25, are both deeply committed and involved with their philanthropic endeavors. It was this aspect, in addition to their charm and talent for looking good in front of a camera, that resulted in their new fall 2017 campaign for Cole Haan called "Extraordinary Women, Extraordinary Stories."
The duo were styled by power stylist Karla Welch for the images lensed by the the sought-after photographer Cass Bird, rounding out the all-female creative team. Bird also captured video of the two supermodels discussing what it means to be an extraordinary woman — a subject which these ladies know well as founders of their own philanthropies: Kloss launched Kode with Klossy in 2016 to encourage young girls to learn STEM skills, while Turlington Burns created Every Mother Counts in 2010, which gives women worldwide access to maternity care.
"Their example for women of all ages is one worth celebrating, “ said David Maddocks, CMO and GM business development at Cole Haan. “This is the beginning of a multiyear, multigenerational conversation about what it is to live an extraordinary life filled with purpose.”
