Kasell exits top post at Hamptons fest

Hamptons International Film Festival executive director Denise Kasell is departing after nine years, the festival said Monday.

Kasell first joined the fest in its fifth year and was responsible for hiring current artistic director Rajendra Roy in 2002, instituting honorary and advisory boards and establishing the Conflict and Resolution film program for the yearly event, which traditionally is held in mid-October.

"Denise's tenure has been a boon to the Hamptons Film Festival," board chairman Stuart Match Suna said. "Through her efforts, the festival has enhanced its standing in the international film community and has earned a solid footing as one of this country's foremost film events." Kasell did not reveal her future plans.

Active recruitment for a replacement is under way; interested parties can send a resume to hiff@silvercupstudios.com
