Katapult, Coproduction Office merge sales

Entities to keep their catalogs and acquisitions separate

PARIS -- U.S.-based Katapult Film Sales has propelled itself into the hands of European sales and production label Coproduction Office for a joint sales merger venture.

Katapult's head of acquisitions Anna Kvorning will join the sales team under the supervision of Sarah Calderon in Coproduction Office's Paris bureau. The two companies plan to keep their respective catalogs and acquisitions separate despite the sales union.

Philippe Bober and Vanja Kalurjercic will stay on to run acquisitions at Coproduction Office.

The young Katapult Film Sales, founded in 2004, focuses on feature films from U.S. filmmakers such as "Sherry Baby" and music-based stories like Madonna's "Filth and Wisdom."

Founded by Bober in 1987, Coproduction Office has produced and sold a number of international titles, from Lars von Trier's "Europa" in 1991 to Cristi Puiu's "The Death of Mr. Lazarescu" in 2005, and is in postproduction on three features.
