The feature based on the popular 2012 short 'Teacher of the Year' will premiere at Tribeca and also stars Gil Zabarsky and Kathleen Littlefield.

There's a new bad teacher in town.

What necessarily constitutes a bad teacher? For starters — as seen in the clip below — allotting only four minutes to take a six-hour standardized test and seriously debating pulling the fire alarm to get your boss off your back.

Tenured is based on the short Teacher of the Year, which Fox Digital Studio optioned after it gained a strong fan base online. The short's original writer-director Chris Modoono and writer-star Gil Zabarsky developed it into a full-length feature, also starring Kate Flannery (The Office) and Kathleen Littlefield (The Slap).

Premiering and open for sale at the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival, Tenured follows Ethan Collins (Zabarsky), a severely depressed, foul-mouthed elementary school teacher whose wife's recent departure has left him questioning his life and teaching his students "mommies are liars." When he is put in charge of the school play as punishment for his bad performance, Ethan rewrites the script to be about his marital problems and puts on an unforgettable show for the parents, school board and his soon to be ex-wife.
