Kate Hudson Dons Hippie Handbag From Stylist-Turned-Designer, But Not Rachel Zoe
The actress, who has long worked with Rachel Zoe, arrived at the Venice Film Festival with an eye-catching accessory designed by Nicole Richie's stylist.
Kate Hudson just arrived at the Venice Film Festival to promote her new film, The Reluctant Fundamentalist, wearing a cute lilttle Twenty8Twelve chocolate colored "romper" (short jumpsuit), aviator sunglasses and an interesting, hippie-style, fabric shoulder bag. Covered with little mirrors and many different colors and fabrics on it, the bag looks like it comes from India -- but it actually came from Hollywood stylist Simone Harouche, who's been working with Nicole Richie and Christina Aguilera for a long time. The trendy bags are sold under the name "Simone Camille."
The version Kate was spotted wearing is called "the Original" and it comes from Harouche's "Vintage" collection. Harouche started creating the bags in 2008, and now they seem to be turning up on the arms of everybody, including Heidi Klum, Jessica Alba, of course Nicole Richie, and now Hudson, who has worked with Rachel Zoe as her personal stylist for quite a while.
Zoe is not the only stylist-turned-designer in Hollywood. L'Wren Scott is a stylist (working with Sarah Jessica Parker and Nicole Kidman) who turned into a very successful designer. And then there's Harouche, who's got a lot of Simone Caille styles on her namesake website, and they've been selling very well in Fred Segal for years.
