The film, directed by Finn Taylor, centers on a woman whose pets turn into full-grown men.

Kate Micucci and Shameless actors Steve Howey and Justin Chatwin will star in the indie Unleashed, which centers on a woman whose pets turn into full-grown men.

Finn Taylor (Dream with the Fishes) wrote and will direct the film. Susan Johnson is producing through her Braveart Films, along with Debbie Brubaker.

Micucci will star as Emma, a thirty-something app designer who moves to San Francisco after she's betrayed by her boyfriend. One night, her pets — Ajax, a golden-eyed cat, and Summit, an energetic mutt — are transformed into two handsome, full-grown men (Howey and Chatwin) who begin to woo her.

Principal photography will kick off in San Francisco on July 1.

Taylor made his directorial debut with the 1997 film Dream with the Fishes, which premiered at Sundance. He also helmed the 2006 film The Darwin Awards, which starred Joseph Fiennes, Winona Ryder and David Arquette and also debuted at Sundance.

Micucci is an actress and musician known for her comedy duets in her band, Garfunkel and Oates. Her acting credits include Rudderless, directed by Shameless star William H. Macy, and the TV series Raising Hope and The Big Bang Theory. She's repped by WME and Principato-Young Entertainment.

Howey stars on Showtime's hit series Shameless as Kevin Ball. His film credits include Bride Wars, Something Borrowed and the upcoming indie Love on the Run. He's repped by UTA and Thruline Entertainment.

Chatwin also stars on Shameless, as Jimmy, aka Steve. He also appears on BBC America's popular series Orphan Black. His film credits include 2005’s War of the Worlds, 2007’s The Invisible and the upcoming Urge, with Pierce Brosnan. He's repped by UTA, Alchemy Entertainment and Sloane, Offer.
