Kate Spade's Expansion to Include Baby, Home and Fitness Collections
Oh, and cupcakes.
Die-hard Kate Spade fans rejoice: You will soon be able to outfit your home, your baby and even your gym bag in the quirky, colorful brand. And if that wasn't good enough, there's also a sweets-themed collaboration with Magnolia Bakery coming, too. (The stuff of Instagrammable dreams, people.)
After a rough 2014, which included the closing of the Kate Spade Saturday and Jack Spade lines, WWD reports that Kate Spade & Co. will look to diversify its product offerings to spur growth and lessen its dependence on its handbag business. In addition to home and baby categories, the company will also increase its women's selection with new lifestyle lines including an athleisure fitness collection in collaboration with Beyond Yoga, priced between $31 and $81, as well as sleepwear, which will retail between $48 and $118.
A cupcake box tote and banana pudding crossbody bag, designed in collaboration with Magnolia Bakery, will also play into the Kate Spade N.Y. girl's need for a "novelty piece and conversation starter." The brand's cheeky flare, which has drawn fans including Taylor Swift, Drew Barrymore and spring campaign star Anna Kendrick, will also be found on its home accessories, including cookware printed with clever idioms as well as rugs, wallpaper and bedding in its signature vibrant patterns.
Showing off the brand's new look for fall is none other than Karlie Kloss as well as a "cast of modern heroines" which include artist Anh Duong, singer Alice Smith and writer Karley Sciortino.
