The song is the sixth single off the pop singer's "Teenage Dream" album.

Katy Perry has released a stripped down acoustic version of her current single, “The One That Got Away.” The single, the sixth off her Teenage Dream album, has already been released in two other versions – the upbeat original and a remix featuring B.O.B.

Perry’s extremely successful Teenage Dream album recently matched Michael Jackson’s Bad as the second album in history to produce five No. 1 singles. If The One That Got Away can reach the No. 1 spot, Teenage Dream would become the first album to have six Billboard Hot 100 toppers.

The release of the more subdued, emotional version of the song comes just a few weeks after Perry’s husband, Russell Brand, announced that he was filing for divorce from Perry. The couple had been married since October 2010.

Perry kept silent after the news of the divorce broke on Dec. 30, until she tweeted thanks to her fans for their support on Jan. 8. “I am so grateful for all the love and support I've had from people around the world,” she wrote. “You guys have made my heart happy again.”
