The giant-screen exhibitor reteams with the 'Matrix' star

Imax is reuniting with The Matrix star Keanu Reeves to release a digitally supersized version of his assassin film John Wick domestically.

The Summit Entertainment title centers on Reeves, a retired hit man pursuing gangsters who wronged him. The film co-stars Willem Dafoe, Michael Nyqvist, Adrianne Palicki, John Leguizamo, Ian McShane ‎and Bridget Moynahan.

Chad Stahelski and David Leitch make their directorial debut on John Wick, which Imax will release simultaneously with the film's wide release Oct. 24.

Imax released Reeves' own directorial debut, the martial arts action film The Man of Tai Chi, in China. Earlier, the giant-screen exhibitor rolled out Reeves' The Day the Earth Stood Still in 2008 and the second and third Matrix films just over five years earlier.

Stahelski and Leitch worked with Reeves as stunt technicians on all three of the Matrix films
