Replicas is not in the TIFF lineup, so instead a deal was made after a private screening held here in Toronto.

Entertainment Studios, which picked up Replicas for $4 million, is expected to be an aggressive buyer here at the market, having already placed a sizable bid on Jason Clarke starrer Chappaquiddick.

Allen's company has become a significant acquisitions player in recent months, having released the most successful independent film in the U.S. this year, 47 Meters Down.

CAA negotiated the Replicas deal on behalf of the filmmakers. Lotus is handling international sales on the film.
