Zoey Deutch also stars in the Fox comedy.

Keegan-Michael Key, one half of the award-winning comedy duo Key and Peele, has joined the cast of Why Him?, Fox’s romantic comedy starring Bryan Cranston, Zoey Deutch and James Franco.

Along Came Polly director John Hamburg is helming the project, which tells of a Midwestern dad (Cranston) who travels with his family to visit his daughter (Deutch) at college. However, he finds himself involved in a battle for her affections with her new, brash tech-billionaire boyfriend (Franco).

Key will play the billionaire’s European-hailing estate manager, the man who is tasked with running his complicated life.

Hamburg, whose credits include co-writing the Meet the Parents movies as well as the Zoolander pics, penned the script with Ian Helfer.

Shawn Levy’s 21 Laps, Ben Stiller’s Red Hour and Jonah Hill are producing the feature, which is set to begin shooting in February.

Dan Levine is overseeing for 21 Laps, while Jeremy Kramer is shepherding for Fox.

Key had a memorable appearance in last year’s Tomorrowland and next stars in Keanu, a New Line comedy that is due to be released in April.

He is repped by UTA, Principato-Young Entertainment and Bloom Hergott.
