Mango Recruits Kendall Jenner as Star of Its Latest Campaign
The theme? "Tribal Spirit."
At the rate she’s going, Kendall Jenner will have worked with every name in the fashion and beauty industry by the time she’s 25. The latest? Mango. The Kardashian family’s full-fledged supermodel has been named as the first face of the Spanish brand’s new four-part campaign for spring.
Instead of a single effort, Mango has chosen to keep up with the fast-fashion pace and split spring 2016 into four separate mini campaigns, each with a different model. Jenner’s collection is themed "Tribal Spirit" and is inspired by the African savanna; it was shot by David Sims last month in London.
Mango vp Daniel Lopez told WWD of selecting Jenner as the label's new ambassador, "We thought that she was the best model to embody this trend. And obviously the upside with that is that, as a model, she’s very professional, she works fantastically. As a celebrity she has huge repercussions in the market and among her followers."
In one of the images, which will appear in March glossies and on digital advertising platforms on Feb. 1, Jenner wears a fitted black leather dress with fringed skirt and braided waistband. Mango hasn’t released the names or themes of the other three campaigns yet, which leaves us to guess about who might make an appearance. Any bets?
