The adventure game 'Open Roads' comes from Oregon-based developer Fullbright, known for 2018's BAFTA winning 'Gone Home.'

Video game publisher Annapurna Interactive revealed at the Game Awards on Thursday that Keri Russell and Booksmart star Kaitlyn Dever will lead the voice cast of mother-daughter road trip adventure game, Open Roads.

From developer Fullbright, the game will see players taking on the role of 16-year-old Tess Devine, who embarks on a journey with her mother Opal to unearth family mysteries. The actors will appear as hand-animated characters in the game, interacting through an interactive dialogue system that advances the story.

"We couldn’t be more thrilled to have Keri Russell and Kaitlyn Dever lend their talents to Open Roads,” said Fullbright co-founder and Open Roads game director, Steve Gaynor, in a statement. "The characters of Opal and Tess are the heart of this game, and it’s such an honor to have Keri and Kaitlyn bring that relationship to life."

Annapurna Interactive, which was founded in 2016 as a division of Megan Ellison's Annapurna Pictures, is known for the romantic visual novel Florence, as well as the story-driven What Remains of Edith Finch, Kentucky Route Zero and Telling Lies; while Oregon-based company Fullbright made the BAFTA winning, first-person exploration game Gone Home in 2018.

Open Roads launches in 2021 on PC and consoles. View the trailer below.
