"I'm thrilled to be on the cover but we took so many better cover images."

It's no secret that social media has unlocked a new means for celebrities to control the image they put forth to the public (for better or worse). This is especially true when it comes to certain aspects that were once outside their control — specifically, magazine covers.

Khloe Kardashian is the latest in a string of celebrities who has taken to social media to critique a cover — following in the footsteps of Kerry Washington and Amy Schumer, who each spoke out earlier this month about the way they were portrayed.

Kardashian's criticism, however, was buried within a message of gratitude to the glossy. She tweeted of her Shape Magazine May issue cover: "Love Shape mag & I'm thrilled to be on the cover but we took so many better cover images."

The 31-year-old went on to explain that it's not a matter of Photoshop or improper labeling that she is unhappy with — as was the case for Washington and her Adweek cover and Schumer with her inclusion in Glamour's plus-size issue — but rather the plain heather gray one-piece she was outfitted in.

"I wish they would have used the other set ups over that simple grey look." Instead of the cover, Kardashian tweeted a photograph in which she wears a decidedly sexier, more Kardashian-esque get-up of a mesh sports bra and black spandex short shorts. "But how f—king crazy that me ... 'The fat one' is on the cover of Shape!!!" she adds.
