Hairstylist Jen Atkin admits that there was a lot of peer pressure involved.

At THR’s Beauty Dinner on Wednesday evening, Jen Atkin made quite the entrance.

The hairstylist, who was honored for creating look No. 9 on The Hollywood Reporter’s List of Hollywood’s 25 Best Beauty Moments of 2015, was led into the penthouse suite at The London West Hollywood by her devoted clients/BFFs Khloe Kardashian and Chrissy Teigen, who not only chanted her name, but also guided the procession with strobe lights.

According to the longtime Kardashian hairstylist, however, the loving feeling goes both ways. “She’s the only reason I have a career!” she joked to Pret-a-Reporter of Kardashian, who gushed endlessly about her love for Atkin throughout the night. “That’s the funny part about this!”

The hair guru has played an integral role in Kardashian’s recent beauty transformation — beginning with the drastic lob (which she dubbed the “Celine lob”) that she cut for her a couple weeks back. But it took a little convincing for Kardashian to part ways with her old, mermaidlike locks.

“Honestly, the lob was my idea like two years ago, and I’ve been peer pressuring her into it,” noted Atkin. “But she has worked so hard on herself for the past two years, and I felt like, ‘You know what? You’re ready for this,’ " she added, referencing the reality star's recent body, mind and heart transformation that is chronicled in Kardashian's new book, Strong Looks Better Naked. "And we just did it."

Though it’s true that her work with the Kardashians has contributed to her success within the industry, Atkin also has been busy outside of the Kardashian-Jenner world, working with the likes of Gigi Hadid and Gwen Stefani and launching her site, Mane Addicts, earlier this year.

Good news, too, for those who want to mimic the Kardashians' enviable waves. “We’re teaching a class in L.A. It’s a haircutting class, a styling class — everything you want to know about hair,” said Atkin of her latest Mane Addicts venture with fellow celebrity stylist Adir Abergel, whose clientele includes Kristen Stewart and Saoirse Ronan.

“It’s going to be all about love,” added Abergel. “And hair. Love and hair.”
