Kid Rock to Host CMT's Weeklong Johnny Cash Tribute
The network changes its name to "Cash Music Television" from Sept. 8-12.
CMT is planning a weeklong Johnny Cash commemoration and Kid Rock is onboard to host the tribute.
As the network changes its name to "Cash Music Television" from Sept. 8-12, Kid will host a special Cash-dedicated CMT Hot 20 Countdown with Cody Alan and Katie Cook on Sept. 12, the 12th anniversary of Cash's death.
That show will be followed by a new documentary called Johnny Cash: American Rebel, which includes interviews from Cash's children, friends, family and peers.
The programming will begin on Sept. 8 with the Oscar-winning 2005 film Walk the Line, followed by Cash music videos on a "Throwback Thursday" dedication and a Cash-focused CMT All-Time Top 40: Artist's Choice.
