Kiernan Shipka, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Celebrate harper's Launch in L.A.
Fashion favorites including Rachel Zoe and Jamie Alexander turned up at the stylish Violet Grey launch of 'harper' by Harper's Bazaar on Tuesday evening.
The intimate West Hollywood storefront of Cassandra Huysentruyt Grey's Violet Grey beauty business played host to fashion femmes including Rachel Zoe, Jamie Alexander and Kiernan Shipka on Tuesday evening at the launch of the May issue of harper by Harper’s Bazaar, which stars Rosie Huntington Whiteley on the cover.
The eclectic mix of partygoers saw two extremes of "typical" L.A. fashion, with guests sporting equal parts Coachella-esque styles including studded leather jackets and maxi skirts (Zoe) and fitted, club-ready Mugler minidresses (Alexander).

Shipka managed to strike the perfect balance in her cherry red, collared Valentino minidress and black lace-up heels. At only 15 years old, Shipka has already worn countless Valentino ensembles, each styled to perfection (by Zoe's team) with a sophisticated yet still youthful flair. “I love Valentino,” gushed the Mad Men phenom to Pret-a-Reporter. “Everything they do is amazing.”
The starlet added that she would love to see a show in-person eventually, but that she doesn’t have any concrete plans quite yet. As for her post-Mad Men summer, Shipka said she’ll just be “hanging out in L.A.,” with the slight possibility of a quick vacation. “Those things are always last minute,” noted the actress.
Cover star and guest-editor Huntington-Whiteley rounded out the stylish group in an elegant black Alessandra Rich dress, topped with an oversize white bow embellishment and off-the-shoulder shirt-sleeves.
As guest editor of the second issue of harper, the bi-monthly "contemporary supplement" of Harper's Bazaar, Huntington-Whiteley curated a list of spring picks, dished on her favorite style icons and of course, modeled some of the summer's hottest trends. The inaugural issue, which featured guest editor Alexa Chung, debuted in February.
But it's not just harper that Huntington-Whiteley graced the cover of for May — the super busy supermodel was also featured on Violet Grey, the digital arm of Grey's beauty content and commerce company. In an in-depth interview with the site, Huntington-Whiteley opened about her acting career and her entrepreneurial endeavors (she recently debuted a lingerie line called Rosie for Autograph) in addition to life as a model.
Founded in 2012, Violet Grey has also featured Cindy Crawford as well as Shipka's Mad Men co-star January Jones in its beauty driven shoots.
